TataNaka: SS12 London Fashion Week
September 22, 2011
We’ve had so much fun this week, it’s been crazy busy but the TataNaka London Fashion Week show has been our highlight! This is our third season working with the Surguladeze twins and it just get’s more and more fun each season. For their SS12 presentation we all drew inspiration from Pina Bausch the German choreographer, dance teacher and ballet director, and boy did we all have fun with it! (follow this link to watch the film trailer we all got rather obsessed with, better still buy the DVD it’s truly amazing!).
We produced the set in two stages, first to open the show was the kaleidoscope digital floral prints which were shot against an enormous 6mt x 3.5mt step and repeat version of the white rose print and then half way through the shoot we stripped that layer off revealing a black wall which we shot their signature hand painted prints against, in this section of the presentation we threw thousands of red rose petals over the models who were dancing, standing and lying on chairs.
We commissioned Gingercups to make us some amazing red velvet, chocolate, hot pink and vanilla sponge cake-pops which were all hand painted with the TataNaka floral prints and to complement the pop-cakes we served our guests with freshly bottled strawberry and cloudy lemonade cocktails by Sejuiced (each with a hand tied carnation and straw) what can we say, we had so much fun, the day flew past and were still smiling looking through the wonderful behind the scenes images that our photographer Melvyn Vincent took for us throughout the day.
